I dont know if i would recommend Mcgowan and heres why:1. Seemed like high mortgage fees in comparison to my previous mortgage closing (Chase bank).2. No communication on a rate buydown or mortgage fees until we were days away from closing and had no option but to proceed.3. I did an application with someone over the phone and the next day a lady called me to ask all of the same info as if I had never talked to them.4. They are annoying with automated communications that you cant seem to cancel.All in all they did ok, we didn’t have to do much on our end, it just left me feeling taken advantage of.

McGowan Mortgages were easy to work with and closed quickly. I completed a refinance on a rental property with them and then closed on another property with them both in the same month. My realtor was also impressed with them and thought they were easy to work with. I plan on using them again to refinance down my second rental property. I highly recommend them.

The McGowan crew was great!! After trying a few mortgage company’s that wouldn’t approve us for the amount we wanted I found McGowan. They immediately got us approved for the amount we wanted. They for sure have ways of helping people who may have particular situations in the home buying process. Everyone was so nice and helpful and the one thing I especially loved was the prompt updates they were always keeping me informed on what was happening with my loan throughout the whole process. I started the home buying process middle of 2024. This was my first time seriously putting effort into purchasing a home. I was new to the home buying process and frankly discouraged. I did a little research prior about some of the home loan types that were tailored for my specific situation. After getting pre approved with McGowan Mortgages (found them through a quick google search, reviewed spoke for themselves) I was off to find my home. Megan was my contact that really made the process less overwhelming and managed everything I needed help with such as finding a real estate agent in my areas that was familiar with the USDA loan process and properties. I hit a few snags in my personal life that required some time away from looking for a home. Megan and the team did an amazing job not being pushy and allowing me to get back to the home buying process on my own time. I was also able to communicate with Derek and I’m pretty sure it was a holiday or close too when he took the time to explain more of the process and answer any questions I had to make sure I was comfortable with the crunched numbers once I had put an offer in on a house and it was accepted by the seller.I am so grateful for everyone that came together and surrounded me with so much kindness, help, and just treated me like family.
